On September 10, 2007, the Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Xie Xiaoyan met with the delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs and Development of Barbados Mia A. Mottley.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner introduced the initiatives that the Chinese Central Government implements to develop Hong Kong, and the current development situation in Hong Kong as well. Both sides also talked briefly about how to promote the communication and cooperation on trade, tourism, finance, and other areas between Barbados and Hong Kong.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Barbados Mia A. Mottley visited Hong Kong after her attendance at the 2nd China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in Xiamen.
